Consign Your Vehicle with Driven

Consign Your Vehicle

No Fees. No Hassle.

What is Vehicle Consignment?

Consignment means you leave your vehicle with us at the dealership, and we sell it for you. You stay the owner until it sells, but we handle all the marketing, buyer negotiations, and paperwork. Best part? There are no fees or commissions.

When it sells, your net check is typically within the Kelley Blue Book “Fair to Very Good” Private Party Value range, depending on the vehicle and current market.

If you still have a loan on your vehicle, no problem. We’ll work directly with your bank to handle the loan payoff and title transfer. When the vehicle sells, we’ll cut you a check for the difference.

Consignment Eligibility. To be considered for consignment, your vehicle must have a clean title, have no moderate or major accidents on Carfax or Autocheck, be 8 years old or newer, and have fewer than 100,000 miles. Specialty vehicles may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Why Consign with Driven?

  • No Fees or Commissions: You get a clear, upfront agreement on your net check.
  • Loan Payoff Assistance: If you have a lien on the vehicle, we’ll handle the payoff and title work with your bank.
  • Quicker Selling Potential: We can offer bank financing and accept trade-ins, which makes it easier for buyers to purchase.
  • Maximum Exposure: Your vehicle will be marketed online, on social media, and displayed on our lot.
  • We Handle the Hassle: No strangers coming to your house, no haggling, no paperwork headaches.
  • You Stay in Control: You can pull your vehicle anytime before it sells—no minimum time length commitment. The only limit is that consignments must sell within 6 weeks to align with our best market pricing model.

How It Works (Step-by-Step)

  1. Bring In Your Vehicle - Stop by the dealership for a quick vehicle inspection. We’ll go over Kelley Blue Book values and current market conditions to help you understand what you can expect. If your vehicle needs detailing before we can list it, we’ll let you know up front. That’s the only possible cost involved prior to sale.
  2. Simple Consignment Agreement - We’ll write up a simple agreement that clearly outlines your net check amount when it sells. No hidden fees, no surprises.
  3. Marketing & Showcasing - We take professional photos, write compelling ads, and list your vehicle across top online marketplaces and display it at our dealership.
  4. We Work the Deal - We handle all buyer inquiries, showings, test drives, financing arrangements, trade-in negotiations, and—if applicable—loan payoff coordination.
  5. You Get Paid - When it sells, the buyer pays the dealership, we handle the paperwork, and you receive your agreed-upon check. If there’s a loan balance, we pay off your bank first, and you get the difference.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: How much does it cost to consign?

A: There are no consignment fees or commissions. The only potential upfront cost would be if your vehicle needs professional detailing before being listed.

Q: What price will I get for my vehicle?

A: We aim to get you a net check in the KBB “Fair to Very Good” Private Party Value range, depending on the vehicle and current market demand.

Q: Can I still drive my car while it’s consigned?

A: No, it needs to stay on our lot for insurance and to maximize buyer exposure.

Q: How long can my car stay on consignment?

A: We limit consignments to 6 weeks to keep pricing competitive and ensure vehicles sell quickly. If it hasn’t sold in that time, you’re welcome to pick it up or explore other options with us.

Q: What if someone wants to trade in or finance?

A: Perfect! We’re a licensed dealer, so we can accept trade-ins and secure bank financing, which helps your vehicle sell faster and for more.

Q: What if I still owe money on my vehicle?

A: No problem. We’ll work directly with your bank to pay off the loan and handle the title transfer. After the sale, you’ll receive a check for the remaining balance.

Q: Are there any restrictions on what vehicles you consign?

A: Yes. We consign vehicles with a clean title, no moderate or major accidents on Carfax or Autocheck, 10 years old or newer, and with fewer than 120,000 miles. Specialty vehicles may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
